We are in the final weeks of 2017 — can you believe it?!? I hardly can. Since our last two episodes of the year are interviews, in this episode of Beyond the Business Suit I wanted to share five steps to help you soar in your life and career in 2018:
1) Set your vision. Think about yourself this time next year. What will you want to be thankful for from the previous year? What will you want to have had accomplished by that point? What do you look like and feel like? Really visualize yourself in the state you want to be in and tap into the emotions you want to have this time next year.
2) Set your goals. Now that you've envisioned what you want your year to look like, write everything down. What are the goals you have both personally and professionally because best believe whatever goals you set professionally will impact your personal life and vice versa. And be specific.
3) Determine what you need to say “no” and “yes” to. You will need to make some choices to get to where you want to go. For instance, let's say you want to get a new job in a new industry. In order to focus, you may need to say “yes” to going to some events that include people from that industry and say “no” to some social activities and maybe even volunteer work that may take away from your focus on getting a new job.
4) Determine what tools and support you need. What development do you need to do to get to where you want to go? You cannot do it all by yourself. Do you need a coach? Do you need a trainer? Do you need to go back to school? Do you need a stylist? Do you need a therapist? Do you need all of the above? Remember that what got you here will NOT get you there, so you need the right support, people programs to get there.
5) Hold yourself accountable. I could not have the business I have if it weren't for my accountability partners. Between my husband, my best friend, my official accountability partners (shout out to Toria and Amanda), my unofficial accountability partners (shout out to Ekene, Amber, Monica, Charisse and many others), I have people who I share what I'm doing with so I don't fall short. These are people who will call me out on things when I need it or will let me know when I'm aiming too low. Determine who you want people to be for you. One of those people could even be a coach.
If you are thinking about taking your career to the next level and you want to unleash your most powerful self in the first 90 days of 2018, I would love to have you in the Power Presence Program. Doors are only open for a few more days (December 16th) so don't wait (go to kaileicarr.com/powerpresence20 18 to secure your spot or learn more). You are not getting any younger and if you don't feel like you are at the level you need to be, let me help you get there. I would be honored to.
