Episode 177: A Call for Black Women in Leadership

I felt compelled to record this episode of Beyond the Business Suit to discuss where we are in the world, especially in the United States, given what has been going on with not only the pandemic, but also the awful deaths of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery. Over the past week or so I have experienced a range of emotions including exhaustion, sadness, anger and this week even hope.
Though I have a very diverse set of clients, the majority of my clients are Black American women and they have been experiencing a lot of hurt and pain right now. And though I will continue to serve a diverse set of clients, I know that right now, in this moment, I'm being called to give some special attention to Black female leaders.
In this episode, I'm explaining why as well as encouraging any woman who is listening who needs to be a part of the Beyond Signature Series, to join us. Though I talked about being “healed and whole” in this episode, it's likely that some of us may never reach complete healing or a feeling of wholeness. However, what I do believe is that we can repair. We can restore. And we can mend. And that's what I hope the Beyond Signature Series will do for all who are a part of it.
