Previously recorded on LinkedIn Live on my mother's birthday, February 18th, this episode is dedicated and inspired by her and one of her favorite subjects: building relationships. She was the best relationship builder I knew. She had a knack for connecting with people and making them feel appreciated. Everyone who was in her “inner circle” (all 400 or so of them!) would get sent greeting cards on their birthday (even if they lived in Malaysia!), and a photo holiday card in December. Her signature workshop, “The Art of Networking” was a staple at many Fortune 500 companies.
While many people get overwhelmed by the concept of networking, in this episode, I'm sharing five methods for networking and how to build better relationships with those you actually want to build relationships with. From intentionality, to authentic connectivity and mentorships, I've got you covered with everything you need to enhance your professional relationship-building skills and overcome any hesitation about the “Art of Networking.”
QUOTABLES:
“The term ‘networking' puts people in a certain space.”
“How close are you to people of power and influence?”
“At the end of the day, you’re working with people.”
“People need to know, like and trust you.”
