Let's start rediscovering ourselves! This Beyond the Business Suit episode features a portion of a community session with Divine Channel, “Spokesperson for the Light” and Beyond Community member, Anika Apple, that was previously recorded exclusively for the Beyond Community.
During her session, which in the Beyond Community we call “Community Conversations,” Anika shared her journey through exploring her passions, purpose and what ultimately brings her joy and how that can change throughout life. QUOTABLES:
“I’m not interested in just kind of making it through.”
“There is nothing that I won’t give up for God.”
“My joy comes from the relationship that I have with God and from Him being responsible for me while placing purpose and direction in my path.”
“You teach people how to treat you.”
“It feels good to pour out to others.”
THE FINAL FIVE:
- When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a pastor on Sundays, an actor, flight attendant, nurse, teacher and an attorney. I was going to fly to Hollywood, do a show, teach during the week, be a nurse on the plane and preach on Sundays.
- What are some of the things you do to take care of yourself? Reiki, I’ve never really done it. I meditate almost every day, I journal every day (sometimes multiple times a day), I drink water, I exercise and I’ve lost 70 pounds over the course of a year. I've also learned the importance of setting boundaries for myself.
- What are some of the things you do to keep your skills sharp? I hang around with a lot of smart women. The iron sharpens iron. I also read a lot and research a lot on the internet.
- What is one of your super powers? I want to say being a mom during COVID, but I think there’s something to being able to connect with someone and feel how they’re feeling. That genuine power of empathy.
- What is your favorite movie? Love and Basketball. I just love that movie. I can’t get through it without crying.
