Introducing: Beyond Black Women 30 Days of Inspo

JOIN US FOR 30 DAYS OF INSPIRATION THROUGHOUT SEPTEMBER

As many of you know, I work with many leaders and emerging leaders leading my practice, the Asbury Group. Through leadership development programs, executive coaching, workshops and other experiences, in any given month, I may engage with hundreds of women or more. Though my clientele is quite diverse, the largest population I work with are Black women. And, as I shared in episode 177 of Beyond the Business Suit, what I've found over the past several months is that Black women are feeling the brunt of this period of time. Black women are experiencing not only the grief and strain coming from COVID19, but also the collective trauma felt regarding the awful killings and shootings of more Black men and women at the hands of police officers, heightened racial tension at work and in society and the weight that so many of them feel as “strong black women.”

It. Is. Too. Much.

And through it all, they are still showing up to work. Leading and inspiring teams. Helping their children transition to a new way of learning. Supporting aging family members. Being there for friends and family members who need them.

But who is pouring into them?

That's why I have been called to create some programs, support and experiences especially for Black women over the next few months. And given what many of my Black female friends, colleagues, clients have been experiencing in the past week alone, I felt specifically called to provide some extra support, inspiration and encouragement through the podcast. So for the month of September, we're doing a Beyond Black Women: 30 Days of Inspiration series where every day throughout the month I will share a short podcast (less than 10 minutes long) to give a boost of inspiration, encouragement or information to aid in your elevation. And though this series is centering Black women, anyone can find value in it. As I often say, I don't believe in coincidences, so if you were called to listen, there is something in here for you.
