Some of My Favorite Things
As many of you know, in my early days of the Beyond the Business Suit, I would ask all of my guests about their favorite things (great inspiration from Oprah!), and have heard so many. And every now and then people will ask me what some of my favorite things are, so I thought I'd share some of them with you. Other than my phone, my laptop, and the people I love in my life, here are some of my favorite things:
Anything Truffle! And that's truffle as in the mushroom variety, not chocolate truffles (though I eat those too). This truffle salt is something I have been known to travel with.
Harney & Sons Cinnamon Tea: I absolutely love this stuff. It's like no other cinnamon tea I've ever tasted. It's spicy and somehow is sweet! To the point that I don't even have to put any sugar in it. This stuff is amazing.
My Jawbone UP Band: I love being able to track my sleep and steps! Granted, I've now broken two but I am glad to hear that Jawbone has improved the product and now has the Jawbone UP2 and the Jawbone UP Move Activity Tracker.
Nikon D3000 Digital SLR camera: Though bulky, this fairly inexpensive digital SLR has been my “road dawg” for the past five years. It takes some great photos especially outdoors and is a nice starter digital SLR. If you want the full bundle, here's a great one with everything you need.
My makeup: If I'm going out of the house (and sometimes when I'm not), I have some type of foundation on my face. On light makeup days I wear Max Concealer in NC45. On my “everyday foundation” days I wear MAC Studio Fix in C6. When I'm going to be on camera or want to glam it up a bit I wear Makeup Forever HD in 173.
Wine: As for reds, I lean more towards either fruit forward Pinot Noirs or bold, jammy red Zinfandels. One of my favorites is the Laetitia Estate Pinot Noir which I try to order if I ever see it on a wine list. As for white wine, my inexpensive pick is a sweeter riesling called Columbia Winery Cellarmaster's Riesling.
Almond Coconut Milk & Grade B Maple Syrup combo: I drink my coffee with this combo and feel like I can't live without them. I started drinking the almond coconut milk as a dairy substitute and grade B maple syrup as a sugar substitute when I did the Paleo diet back in 2013 when I was losing weight in preparation for my wedding. I was forever changed! I love how the coconut and almond balance each other out and how the maple syrup gives the sweetness without the blood sugar spike. So yummy!
There are many others I can add, but I'll stop with those. Tell me, what are some of your favorite things?
