Why I Love and Hate This Season’s Color Trends
Fall is here and I have to say, it is one of my favorite fashion seasons. I mean the boots, the coats, the sweaters, the capes — what is not to love!? Last week I spent a couple of days in stores all around New York City looking for outfits for a photo shoot I was having to get new headshots and photos for the site (more on that soon). Anyway, I love color and am particularly the queen of “a pop of color” — having that one statement piece that really stands out. However, to my dismay, I could not find any rich, vibrant colors for the life of me! I found this amazing olive green pantsuit in Zara and envisioned a bright purple shirt to go underneath. Fail. I found a lot of navy that could have used a pop of pink or yellow. Fail. Sleek black was everywhere but was paired in muted maroons, greens and greys. Fail, fail, fail! Needless to say, I ended up wearing some colorful pieces I already owned from previous season and didn't end up wearing anything I found in stores during my shopping excursions.
Now don't get me wrong, even though these pieces and color palettes did not work for my photo shoot purposes they are gorgeous and luxe for everyday wear. These dark colors look sophisticated and rich. So, there certainly will be some more shopping in my future. And the great thing is, even if you don't want to stay in the dark color hues, you can mix and match with some pieces of your own.
Are you feeling inspired to shop now? Check out some of my fall favorites that are great for office and every day.
